Many of you must have seen this musical already, I was waiting for special occasion, firstly tempted seeing billboards on Broadway’s buildings, then even more intrigued when the posters appeared all over London’s underground, announcing Kinky Boots’ arrival.
So you can imagine how great was my joy was when I realised that the muir hat I sold to one of West End’s theatre was to appear in this show!
When the 8th anniversary of Joanna Lark came, my submissive knew what to do 🙂 I received two tickets, seats near the stage, as I like to be close to the actors and their emotions.
The musical was amazing, a powerful message delivered in such a beautiful way. I am so glad the topic of gender related issues and differences are shown on the stage, touching much deeper subjects than the “toilet dilemma”. This show is needed now just as much as ever to help wake us up and accept each other for who we are. The more people see it, the less likely it will be for repeats of the recent tragedy in Orlando.
Lola (starred by Callum Francis that night) and her Angels were fantastic and so reminded me my club nights with dear friends – crossdressers and TGs, that had I been wearing my latex boots, I would have jumped on the stage to dance with them!
So if you are coming to the capital to London Pride, make sure you spend one evening at the Adelphi Theatre.
